for you:
Lavender Glazed Meatballs
1 lb ground lamb
1 egg
1/2 soft breadcrumbs
1 tsp dried lavender buds, crushed
1/2 tsp each garlic powder, black pepper, and oregano
1/4 tsp each cinnamon, coriander, and cayenne
2 tbsp lavender jelly
Lightly mix together all ingredients except jelly. Form into balls about the size of walnuts. In a cast iron or non-stick skillet, brown meatballs on all sides over medium heat. When meatballs are done, add lavender jelly to skillet. Stir gently to thoroughly glazed the meatballs. Serve with rice pilaf and a green salad.

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 sugar
1 TBS. organic lavender buds
1 1/2 cups of flour
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 tsp. of pure lemon extract
sugar to sprinkle. I used purple crystal sugar from Wilton.
Grind lavender and sugar together in a spare coffee grinder. Don't use your everyday coffee grinder.
Mix butter and sugar mixture together until fluffy.
Add vanilla and lemon extracts and mix thoroughly.
Add flour and mix well. Form into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap.
Refrigerate to chill for 15 minutes.
Roll out between two pieces of wax paper and cut with biscuit cutter.
Sprinkle with purple sugar.
Bake 375 degree F. for 7-10 minutes depending on size of cookie.
Let cool for 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack to cont. cooling.
Store in an airtight tin.

Will my grandmothers antique coffe mill be suitable? It has a brass top hopper and i'm just asking if that will affect the flavor of the lavender?

Oh rita, rita rita rita... that wish might as well be a small release of intestinal gas into the raging face of Hurricane katrina. Ilene Chaiken is an insane ego maniac who wont turn the writing of the L-word over to people who actually KNOW HOW TO WRITE. I don't care if the L Word assumes to be the definitive statement on lesbian culture, I don't care that it's glamorous woman-on-woman action is not even close to reality, I dont care if it's made by the gay elite for the gay elite... just make it good! Make it funny and compelling, create some juicy plot lines!
I'm not looking forward to my next 10 sunday nights being about brest cancer. Not a'tal

Yeah, I didn't see the new season opener. I lost interest with that insane tennis player non-plot plotline.
I thought it was very funny when they had that episode with REAL lesbians on a boat. In the context of their show, they made it seem like a freak show. Sad.
there are a lot of straight people who love that show, my friend Stacey will go on and on and on about the L word, I've never seen it.
Annon, Lisa Cholodenko (High Art)has directed the L-word. MM, I don't know, I mostly hated High Art, Ally Sheedy was great but at the time I was enraged by it. Felt like Cholodenko plundered our LES druggy lesbo scene for that movie and turned it into a beingn soap opera. She's gotten better though, I liked Laurel Canyon alot.
shan'
I've heard it reported as well that straight girls like the L-word. They're all lesbians anyhow but only realize it when they're like in their 50's or 60's.

I used to watch The L Word, but the weak writing got to me. But I gotta say, Shane is incredibly hot & I'd sleep with her gladly!
One of the women in gallery social circle wants to contact the show to have an episode filmed there. Guess who? Three words: Sarah Lawrence College. I think it is a good idea. I will hang out with the skeevy bisexual character.Represent!
So if this episode is filmed I will personally rectify this distorted image of conflict. I will remember not to crack jokes about myself as "pork, the other white meat".
The bi-chick should die. Really, who cares if she likes men or women--she is still an annoying, whiney thing.
Who Jenny? Who is not only conflicted about her sexuality but about her religion too? Give me a break.
Shane veneers, I'll take 2.
Kelli, I'm rackign my brain to figure out who you're talking about (sara laurance college) There aren't that many chicks in the gallery social circle...girlfriend or worker bee? In anycase yes! you will perform valuble service for bi community (perhaps also the PVC industry) doing promotion/image spin control...

The most adorable shishka trophy wife in our constellation . Not doing service to bi community by screwing up own lame joke.I meant "porked, the other white meat". With so much pressure on gay community to conform to rules of monogamy without priveleges someone must pick up slack by getting wasted, having group sex with strangers and flying the freak flag.
From one description of an L word character that I heard, I thought Arm and Hammer Annie may have been an inspiration? I'll agree "High Art" was too daytime tv for a movie
Wow. I feel shame now for liking High Art. I just loved the Greta character so much. It was all about Patricia Clarkson for me. I can see your points...but still. I like that Anh Duong was such a biyatch, I was sure she must really be like that and I was kind of psyched that they killed Ally Sheedy at the end. Perhaps I have a weakness for daytime drama, all those hours spent with my little brother watching General Hospital after elementary school - we were supposed to be doing homework but whatever, we were latch-key children, an epidemic of the 80's, and well, as long as the tv wasn't warm when mommy came home we were in the clear. God damnit I am really into revealing my personal anecdotes lately. Apologies.
And have never seen the L word. But one thing I know is that this thread was damn funny. Thanks!!!!

MM I had the same routine you did, afterschool with Luke and Laura and the gang... good times. Also if you're from the new york area you'll remember the PIX game on what they now call the WB (channel 11). It was a space invaders interactive game. A kid would call up the station and yell PIX into the telephone to activate the shooter, it boiled down to kids yelling PIXPIXPIXPIXPIXPIXPIX into the phone while you watched monsters made of giant pixals attack-each pixal was like an inch square back then.
I forgot about patricia clarkson. She's cool. I'd like to have a lunch date with her and laura dern and cameron diaz.
Nice choices, except I would replace Cameron (personally) with Kate Winslet. Need a little chub-chub to round things out.
i think the l-word needs clea duvall
