That which is Blasted from the past. Peter Angermann as described on German Wickpedia (and translated):
From 1966 to 1968 it studied painting at the academy of the forming arts in Nuernberg with Gerhard Turning Country , afterwards (from 1968 to 1973) followed a study at the academy of arts Duesseldorf with Joseph Beuys ... Meadow Man is represented, among other things with its work in numerous private collections as well as in museums of the in and foreign country: Bavarian state painting State of , Munich...etc.
Peter Angermann remindes me of NY painter Matt Blackwell whos work I'd fight for, also seems to me to be in the same paint family as George Condo. Check out Angermann's web site, it's pretty amazing. He was an influential painter for me when I was in college in the 80's. I forgot about him until last year when Mr. Boadwee brought him up during one of our impassioned disscussions on whats hot.

Comments:
Corny,
I posted Matt Blackwell last night. Funny. I really like this German painter week.

Thanks Painter!
Matt Blackwell is a genius, he deserves much more attention. His show at Kent gallery last year was colossal.

Ooops make that Thorp gallery...

I loved that show I think he deserves a lot more attention too. I feel like not to many people saw it. Which is to bad.

Yes, the Blackwell's are excellent! xo kb

and i like the "theme" week. i'm going to try that soon.

Corny you have concentrated your blog once again on the serious intellectual and artistic matters you are known for. When you have crap television week, nose-picking week, or angry shit-talking week let me know. Dennis Cooper has more cumshots on his blog but these paintings are interesting.

Kelli you (as usual) make my day. That is the first and last time I'll ever be called a serious intelectual.
makes me feel like a fraud.

Crap Television week so needs to happen!

I used to work with a tv on in my studio, I had a little 4 inch screen that I kept on the palet table. Maybe I need to dig it out of storage and reconect with daytime tv. I usually try to put in a good 2-3 hours of viewing a night but its hard with this time sucking blog and Mrs.Cub who tends to watch more erudite shows then celebrity Fit Club.

if you do crap television week please feature Carson Daly. Have argued with many over my feeling he is an enlightened being. He always has shit-eating grin. He knows he is a dweeby loser in early middle age with no talent and he is grateful for his destiny. How many of us appreciate what we have half as much?
